Why should you become a NCCHWC certified health and wellness coach?

“With an explosion of health and wellness coaching programs, it is difficult to determine the expertise and quality of coaches. Without agreed upon standards for the training and practice of health and wellness coaches, the public and healthcare professionals are confused about what to expect from coaches and how they complement other professions. A National Certification is the first step in advancing consistent standards and competencies”. ~ NCCHWC.org

There are coaching programs in which you can graduate as a “Certified Coach” without having to practice any coaching hours. Zero, Zip, None. Would you hire that coach?

Coaching is a skill. Skills must be practiced in order to be mastered. The National Consortium for Credentialing Health and Wellness Coaches requires a set amount of coaching hours and successful completion of the exam aligned with the National Wellness Coaching Standards. The NCCHWC has successfully designed state-of-the-art requirements to ensure students graduate with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to be successful.

This Summer, instructor Michael Bertulfo and founder Dawn Mazur, met to align the Expert Coach Center curriculum with the National Wellness Coaching standards The NCCHWC application for Expert Coach Center to become an approved organization for individuals to earn National Certification was accepted and Expert Coach Center is now officially listed on the NCCHWC.org website.

Expert Coach Center is an approved organization for students to become Nationally Certified.

So why should you become an NCCHWC certified health and wellness coach?

Why should you take your car to a trained mechanic? Why should you see a certified chiropractor? Why should you have your teeth cleaned by a certified dental hygienist?

Simply put, it’s because trained and certified individuals know what they are doing. They have met criteria and standards to give you peace of mind, confidence, and desired results. The health and wellness coach field was so new that unfortunately many pop-up programs started to churn out “certified” coaches that had zero experience, never learned the best practices for coaching, and ultimately were not prepared to be successful.

Being Nationally Certified with an approved organization means you will have the skills to be successful and it means others will have confidence in your ability to help them.

You can proudly display your National Certification and know that you’ve been trained with the best. Expert Coach Center is not the only approved program, click here to see other approved organizations

Enrolling in one of these programs will set you on the path to a successful career as a wellness coach.
